Romans 5:15

"But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many." Romans 5:15

Antidote to Faithlessness

Mark 9:14-29 - Antidote to Faithlessness

"He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me." Mark 9:19

At this point in time, Jesus was on Earth for about 3 years. Yet, they are still faithless. The people knew Jesus at that time, but they did not have faith. God's way is to believe before you can see, thus, there is a need for faith to understand the hints of God.

John Calvin said, to see God is to have humility. To be humble the first step to getting closer to God. With humility comes faith. Faithlessness is not to submit and believe in God. To believe in God is an act of faith.

"Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth." Mark 9:23.

Our faith is an active one - we believe God with all the knowledge of he Word and also in the evidence around us that God exists. It is not superstition; there is a basis to our belief. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Our faith is based on the Word;  the Holy Spirit guides us to all understanding.

"And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief." Mark 9:24

Like the father of the child,  we need to seek God to help us with us with our unbelief. We need to trust in God; He will cast out all unbelief, deliver us from the bondage of sin, and we will have the strength to overcome all things that hinder our faith.

From faith to faith; the just shall live by faith. Work out our faith by truly believe in God and seek Him always. The antidote to faithlessness, is faith.
